Engagement Session
Engagement photography and the engagement session is a great opportunity for the wedding photographer(s) and the engaged couple to get to know each other, have fun, and get creative. This initial bond is important. The stronger our working relationship, the easier it is to capture those really great images.
While planning for the engagement session, your input is critical. Your personal style (remember there are two of you now) is developed and being conveyed to us. The more we know about you, the easier it is to present you with one-of-a-kind images that are uniquely you as a couple. We want you to be able to look at the images we capture and say “That’s really us! You have begun to tell our story!”
We allow a good amount of time for your engagement session so we can spend that time knowing you and making sure that the images we capture are real. We will show you good posing, but we want more than that. Having the time to work that out is important. The location of the session and the clothing choices will all combine to reflect your style, attitude, and ultimately you…together! That is our goal.
All of our engagement sessions on location or in studio include a 16×20 print of your choice expertly mat boarded for guests to sign at the reception , a cd of your digital images complete with copyright release. Investment – $350.00
Tips to make your session great!
The general rules for clothing:
1. Engagement sessions last approximately 1.5hrs. We recommend you bring 2 outfits.
2. Skirts should be knee length so we can tastefully pose you in a sitting position. Comfortable fitting button down, short or long sleeve shirts look best for guys. Your outfits should coordinate. (earth-tone colors always look nice)
3. If you don’t like the way your arms look in photographs don’t wear a top that exposes them.
4. If you don’t like the way your legs look in photographs don’t wear bottoms that expose them.
5. The more pale your skin, the lighter your clothing choices should be.
6. Tight & formfitting clothes are generally not the best option. (ex: skin tight little red dress or jeans you can’t move in)
7. Try on your outfits in front of a large mirror with each other. Sit down, lean different ways, look at your profile, etc… if you are comfortable in the outfit then it’s a winner!
Engagement Session Locations:
Many locations charge for parking. It’s always a good idea to bring $10 cash with you. Most places do not accept cards or checks for parking.
